reawakened

got this in an e-mail.. the 2nd one i dun quite get it haha..

it's about mathematics.

The love life of a mathematics teacher....
"Do you love your math more than me?" "Of course not, dear - I love you much more." "Then prove it!" "OK... Let R be the set of all lovable objects..."

Another one...

A mathematician and a Wall street broker went to races. The broker suggested to bet $10,000 on a horse. The mathematician was sceptical, saying that he wanted first to understand the rules, to look on horses, etc. The broker whispered that he knew a secret algorithm for the success, but he could not convince the mathematician. "You are too theoretical," he said and bet on a horse. Surely, that horse came first bringing him a lot of money. Triumphantly, he exclaimed: "I told you, I knew the secret!" "What is your secret?" the mathematician asked. "It is rather easy. I have two kids, three and five year old. I sum up their ages and I bet on number nine." "But, three and five is eight," the mathematician protested. "I told you, you are too theoretical!" the broker replied, "Haven't I just shown experimentally, that my calculation is correct! 3+5=9!"

are you frozen le? haha..

if yes, get some warmth from here, this story a bit sad..

positive thoughts~ =)

"Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny."
Tryon Edwards

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."
Winston Churchill

"Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What's a sun-dial in the shade?"
Benjamin Franklin

"Are you bored with life? Then throw yourself into some work you believe in with all your heart, live for it, die for it, and you will find happiness that you had thought could never be yours."
Audrey Hepburn

"The test is to recognize the mistake, admit it and correct it. To have tried to do something and failed is vastly better than to have tried to do nothing and succeeded."
Dr Dale E Turner

right! i'll rather commit a mistake once than repeating the same mistake and not learning anything from it. a mistake committed today is a lesson remembered from then on.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us."
Helen Keller

keep our eyes open...

"The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up."
Mark Twain

i agree totally! sometimes before i start to stone in sch (no life ar..), i will self-entertain (and try to keep my spirits high) or crack one lame joke to induce cold laughter haha. it's always gd to have some jokes, no matter how lame) and interesting anecdotes at hand to cheer people up..

"Sow an act...reap a habit; Sow a habit...reap a character; Sow a character...reap a destiny." --
George Dana Boardman

does this remind you of NHSS?

"You become a champion by fighting one more round. When things are tough, you fight one more round."
James Corbett

keep on fighting..

"Hope, like faith, is nothing if it is not courageous; it is nothing if it is not ridiculous."
Thornton Wilder

"Books, like friends, should be few and well chosen."
Samuel Patterson

"There is no despair so absolute as that which comes with the first moments of our first great sorrow, when we have not yet known what it is to have suffered and be healed, to have despaired and have recovered hope."
George Eliot
